The International Society is a group of international students at Leuphana and their friends. We provide a place for international students (both regular and exchange students) to network and support each other during their stay abroad in Germany.

Our aim is to improve the student and Leuphana experience by engaging with international students and their friends and providing their critical feedback about the university in terms of a fair and inclusive study and work environment. We provide a free, informal and independent platform to gather suggestions directly from students, which are presented by the unit’s representatives at AStA meetings and in the Student Parliament (StuPa).

At the same time, we want to promote intercultural exchange and mutual understanding in a multicultural dialog and respectful learning in informal events, discussions, workshops, fairs, picnics,… promote.

Finally, we are here to build an inclusive community of support and solidarity with international students at Leuphana.

Like every other department in the AStA, our society is run by volunteers who, together with their community, not only represent the international students, but also help shape the structure and agenda of the society, which means that everyone can participate and contribute in any way, be it organizing an event, a workshop, suggesting a topic for discussion or taking up an issue. As an International Society, we work independently of the International Office and the Student Union, so we do not deal with formal matters. However, we are happy to refer you to the right person in the university administration if you feel lost or don’t know where to start.

Our mission is to improve students’ experiences and Leuphana through free-form exchanges with international students and their friends, their critical feedback on the university in terms of a fair and inclusive study and work environment. We offer a free, informal, and independent platform to collect suggestions directly from students to be presented by the representatives of the society in AStA meetings and student Parliament (StuPa).

At the same time, we aim to promote intercultural exchange and mutual understanding in a multicultural dialogue and respectful learning in informal events, discussions, workshops, fairs, picnics.

Lastly, we are here to build an inclusive community for support and solidarity with international students at Leuphana.

Just like any other societies at the AStA, our society is run by volunteers who together with their community not only represent internationals, but also to create the structure and the agenda of society together, which means – anyone can join and to contribute in any way they like, whether organize an event, a workshop, suggest a topic for discussion, or raise an issue.
