Civil disobedience on the move – action training for Ende Gelände

Last updated 5. March 2025 | Sprecherinnen

Next Sunday, June 16th, there will be a workshop in Lüneburg, led by our fellow student Clara Tempel, for actions of civil disobedience. We will meet at the university in C9.102 from 12-6 p.m. If the weather is good, parts of the event will take place outside.

The aim of the event is to teach the practical basics of civil disobedience actions. In the first step of the action training, there is a brief introduction, including the background to civil disobedience and various forms of action by social movements. In the second step, there are role plays in which the participants actively slip into different situations (such as flowing through a police chain or clearing a blockade) and can try out how to deal with them. In the final step, evaluation discussions are held to reflect on what can be taken away from the role plays.

The training is open to all people who are interested in civil disobedience actions, such as Ende Gelände, regardless of whether they are inexperienced or have already been involved in such actions themselves. Especially for people with little or no experience in this area, the training will provide a good place to try things out and exchange ideas.

Please bring comfortable clothes or clothes that can get dirty and sturdy shoes for the training.
