What does the semester fee actually consist of?
The transfer of the semester fee for the winter semester 2024/25 is once again on students’ to-do lists: For this reason, we have briefly summarized the individual components of the semester fee.
All students have now received the e-mail that re-registration for the winter semester is due. The semester fee is significantly higher than it was in previous semesters. This is mainly due to the fact that we will have a Germany-wide semester ticket from the winter semester onwards. This is around €70 more expensive for the six months than the current nationwide semester ticket. This is significantly less per month (approx. €20) than the current upgrade to the Deutschlandticket. The Germany-wide semester ticket costs 60% of the Germany ticket price per month. That is currently €29.40. All students have to pay this; there will no longer be a nationwide semester ticket for the time being. Reimbursement of the share for the semester ticket will be possible according to the hardship regulations, which will be adjusted in the future, according to similar aspects as before.
