Student General Assembly
Last updated 5. March 2025 | Sprecherinnen
On Monday, June 24 at 4 pm in HS2 there will be a student plenary meeting to discuss the planned changes to the framework examination regulations (RPO) and to discuss student positions. All students are cordially invited to attend. You are entitled to vote and submit proposals and we look forward to an exciting and purposeful discussion. You can find out exactly what the RPO is and why it is so important here.
What is it about?
Our university is about to amend the Framework Examination Regulations (RPO). They regulate our studies and what our rights and obligations are. The RPO applies equally to students of all subjects, although there are some deviations for teacher training students. The Central Study Commission (ZSK), in which 5 students and 5 lecturers are voting members, will soon decide on a draft amendment. This committee will make a recommendation to the Senate, which will make the final decision on the RPO. 3 of the 19 members are students, along with 10 professors and 3 members of staff each from technology and administration and academic staff.
Specifically, there are proposals from lecturers to bring forward the registration deadline for examinations by two weeks. They also want to introduce compulsory attendance for seminars with fewer than 30 students and move the second dates for examinations to the next semester. However, some things can also go well in the process, for example there is currently the possibility of finding alternatives to the three-attempt rule.
And what exactly is happening now?
As the RPO affects each and every one of us, we would like to inform you in good time that there are likely to be some changes. Whether the changes will be good or less good for us students depends primarily on us. We have to show that fair framework examination regulations are important to us. We will keep you up to date on this in the coming weeks.
That’s why the AStA has now called a student plenary session. There we will tell you in more detail what is currently under discussion and you can tell us what you think or what you would like to see.
If you have any questions or comments, you are welcome to contact the student senators () or the AStA spokespersons ().
Or you can simply write it in this pad. We will also use this again during the General Assembly to answer your questions.
You can find information on the current RPO here. What are your rights? What can you do if you have problems? You are also welcome to browse through our reader and see if you have any requests for changes to the RPO. Three years ago, students drafted an ideal RPO, which you can also use as inspiration.
