The AStA speaker collective currently consists of four speakers: Denise (she/her), Emil (he/him), Hannah (she/her) and Theo (he/him).

This is us:
Denise (she/you) is studying environmental science in her sixth semester and was also elected to the StuPa for Campus Grün this year. During our term of office, she is responsible for working with the StuPa and the committees, as well as PR.
Emil (he/him) is in his twelfth semester of cultural studies and has previously worked as a video editor in the team for Startwoche, Konferenzwoche and Utopie-Konferenz since 2020 and came to the AStA through involvement in the StuBe department. His focus will also be on public relations work and cooperation with the AStA departments.
Hannah (she/-) is in her sixth semester of Global Environmental and Sustainability Studies and started her term as Spre on a mountain top in Corsica. Hannah’s areas of responsibility include networking with the city & state as well as with the other student bodies in Lower Saxony & Germany. The finances of the AStA are also part of her responsibilities.
Theo (he/him) is also studying Global Environmental and Sustainability Studies in his sixth semester. He became involved in university politics and the AStA as part of the RPO campaign, then spent a semester abroad and now wants to do all he can for our student body – and where better to do that than in the AStA? Theo will also be responsible for supra-regional networking and will take care of internal areas that keep the AStA and its service operations running.
These are our tasks:
We were elected by the Student Parliament (StuPa) on June 19, 2024 and our task is to represent the student body in its political, social and cultural affairs vis-à-vis the public and the various groups at the university. We regularly hold discussions with various people and groups at the university to find out about the latest developments for you and to advocate for your interests. We do this not only at the university, but also on the city, state, an fedearl level.
We also network with other students’ unions. This takes place at state level in the State Student Conference (LAK) and at federal level in the Free Association of Student Unions (fzs).
Our day-to-day work primarily includes the organization, coordination and administration of the AStA. We are employers of the numerous employees in the AStA and support the departments. Every Tuesday at 14:00 there is therefore an AStA meeting with all the speakers. **These meetings are open to the public and discuss current topics that primarily concern the AStA and its departments or the university in general. These meetings take place in the MuFuZi in building 9 and are open to the public. Interested people are therefore welcome at any time!
Besides, we realize political events and activities – often in cooperation with the societies and student initiatives of the university. We are also mainly responsible for organizing the annual Freshers’ Party and the AStA Summer Festival (the Summer Open Air).
Generally speaking, we are therefore the interface between the student body and all other members of the university. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or problems. Most of the time we can help you directly, otherwise we know who to consult in order to help you.
