Why should I submit an application?
As a student, you have the opportunity to actively help shape change at the university. A motion can help you to implement your own ideas, address problems or obtain financial support for projects. The StuPa is there to represent the interests of students – and a motion is your direct way to make a difference.
What can I apply for?
- Financial support: Support for student initiatives, events or projects. See project funding applications (link page here)
- Better study conditions, sustainability & social issues: The StuPa can pass a resolution calling on the AStA to stand up for certain issues, such as solidarity with Heinrich Böll Haus, campaigns such as “Wir Fahren Zusammen”, support for demands, request for statements, e.g. on Richard David Precht. You can also request that Asta/StuPa draws attention to this via social media channels.
- StuPa resolutions: Changes to existing regulations or new proposals for the student body.
- Exkursionen & Workshops: Zuschüsse für Konferenzen, Studienreisen oder Weiterbildungsmöglichkeiten.
- Organizational matters relating to studies or student committees. For example, a request to establish an AStA department, an autonomous department or a request to convene a general assembly.
Who can write applications?
Every member of the student body is eligible to apply. This means that all enrolled students can submit an application. Students who have joined together to form a specific group (e.g. student initiatives) may also submit applications.
How do I write an application?
Applications must be submitted in text form, for example a PDF by e-mail to the StuPa chair. It is sufficient to write a few lines about who you are and what your request is. You can then give more details verbally at the StuPa meeting. There are certain deadlines that must be observed when submitting an application.
What deadlines apply to ordinary meetings?
The application deadline is Friday, 2 p.m. before the next regular StuPa meeting.
Motions received after this deadline are treated as urgent mot ions, whereby the StuPa first decides whether the motion will be placed on the agenda. In most cases, if there are not too many items on the agenda, your emergency motion will be approved.
In short: Just send the application and the StuPa chair will give you all the other important information 🙂
