What is the StuPa’s project funding application?

The Project Funding Application (PFA) of the Student Parliament (StuPa) is an opportunity for students to apply for financial support for student projects, events or initiatives. The aim is to promote student involvement and support innovative ideas. Approximately €30,000 is available each semester for this purpose.

Who can submit an application?

All enrolled students as well as student groups or initiatives can submit an application.

Which projects are supported?

Funding is provided for projects that benefit student life, be it through cultural, social, sporting or scientific initiatives. The exact funding criteria are set out in the guidelines for project funding of the student body of the University of Lüneburg.

How do I submit an application?

There are initially no limits to the application.

  • Applications up to €1,500 are reviewed by the Finance Committee (FinA), a committee made up of 4-6 members of the StuPa. As long as the criteria are met, most of these applications are approved.
  • Applications over €1,500 are discussed and approved by the Student Parliament (StuPa).

To submit an application:

  1. Find out about the eligibility criteria and download the application form.
  2. Fill out the application – consisting of the two application forms – completely and submit the application by e-mail as a pdf to the Finance Committee or StuPa Chair.

You can find the application forms here:

What happens in the Student Parliament (StuPa)?

The StuPa decides on larger funding applications and deals with applications that have not already been approved by the Finance Committee. The application is discussed and voted on at the meeting. Here you can find more information on how a StuPa meeting works:

The application deadline is Friday, 2 p.m. before the next regular StuPa meeting.

Motions received after this deadline are treated as urgent mot ions, whereby the StuPa first decides whether the motion will be placed on the agenda. In most cases, if there are not too many items on the agenda, your emergency motion will be approved.

At the time of submission, there must be at least two weeks between the StuPa meeting and the start of the project to be funded. In addition, the project must still be in the planning phase.

What else do I need to consider?
  • The application must be completed in full. Missing information may lead to rejection.
  • Projects that have already begun or have been completed cannot be funded.
  • The Finance Department may request additional requirements or evidence.

Is the application also available in English?

Yes, the project funding application is also available in English. Please switch this website to English in the top right-hand corner or contact the finance department .
